The Christian Creed states that God’s nuclear family consists of “Three Persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit” and that “with the Father and the Son, the Holy Spirit is worshipped and glorified”. But while worship of and prayer to the Father and the Son is more easily done, most Christians are mystified by the Person of the Holy Spirit. How is one to worship “a holy dove” (the most popular symbol of the Holy Spirit)? Worse still is if we translate “Holy Spirit” as “Holy Ghost!” Prayer to a “Ghost” (even if a holy one?) is unimaginable even to a very pious Christian, and so there has been an almost complete neglect of the Third Person of the Trinity!
