As the priest, so the people. Making it easier for a priest, a diocesan priest specifically, to be true to his calling as friend, pastor and guide to his flock, is the focus of this book. This book endeavours to offer the diocesan priest food for thought and reflection that will enable him to understand better the spirituality intrinsic to his vocation and to deepen his awareness of his own identity. It deals with spirituality in general, Christian spirituality in particular, more specifically diocesan priestly spirituality. It does not stop there, rather it goes on to deal with the practice of that spirituality: the triple ministry, the triple promise and the practice of virtues backed by ongoing formation, all in the context of the changing face of Church and society.
