Amazing Grace

Description

The word “grace” (Greek: Charis) is a specifically New Testament word! Grace is the gift of God which contains all other gifts, in essence, the giving of his Son (Rom 8:32). Grace characterizes the new order established by Jesus Christ, as opposed to the old “economy of salvation” which was governed by the Law. So the special NT meaning of “grace” is “a personal sharing in the death and resurrection of Jesus”. It is the source and summit of all God’s blessings to the human person, and it implies a real relationship with the Risen Lord.
In a very lucid and appealing way, Fr Fio unpacks here the essentials of Catholic biblical spirituality for the modern woman/man, lay, religious and clergy, too, using Scripture, examples from the lives of the saints, teachings of recent popes, and practical/humorous suggestions from daily life.
